Q&A

How big is the universe?

5,000 planets are available for minting, and they are organized into 1,251 solar systems.

Can I still use the app even if I didn’t buy a planet?

Of course! You can freely explore the universe and see what everyone is making. There will also be a sandbox mode, so you can try out the planet editor for yourself before you purchase (provided there are planets left to mint).

How many items can I place on my planet?

In the current spec, you can place 512 items on a planet in total. At launch we want to have around 16-32 unique items available to place on your planet. We will release more after minting has started. We are also thinking about accepting community contributions; a little 3D model contest might be fun.

Will this work on desktop and mobile?

Yes! We do recommend using desktop for a nicer experience, but you can explore the galaxy from your smartphone as well.

How much will a planet cost to mint?

1 Luna = 1 Planet

$5 UST = 1 Planet

Where do I mint and when?

Minting can be done on intergalacticplanetary.io. You can find the specific dates here.

Is there a secondary market?

All secondary market places will have 0% royalties for our team.

Should I buy a planet?

Only buy a planet if you are interested in the idea of mutable NFTs on the terra blockchain and you want to be a part of this galactic canvas. We do NOT recommend speculating on the NFTs value.

How much will a planet cost to update?

Depends on gas price and how much data is being written on chain. For planets in the GEOv1 format, we are seeing prices below 5 cents USD during testing. The frontend will NOT charge an additional fee on top of this; you only pay gas.

Is there a whitelist for minting?

Yes, there will be a couple days where only people on the official whitelist are allowed to mint. During this time, each address on the whitelist can only mint one planet. After the whitelist minting phase, all wallets can mint as many planets as they want.

How do I join the whitelist?

Have at least 5 luna staked across bonded validators by the snapshot deadline.

Will this be a fair minting event?

We think so. Here are a couple notable points…

  • Whitelisting requires Luna staking which we think is a good thing to reward (everyone should long Terra).

  • The whitelist minting phase only allows one mint per address. Open minting is has no restrictions. If you minted one planet during the whitelist phase, you can still mint as many as you want during open minting.

  • HODLFish Labs will NOT pre-mint NFTs (all 1-5,000 are available to the community)

  • HODLFish Labs employees will not mint for 15 minutes after the whitelist minting opens (honors system on this one, so you can choose to believe it or not).

We are trying to be as fair as possible, but some people may disagree with us. Let us know; we can still course correct.

Is there a governance token for this project?

There will NOT be an additional token minted at any point for governance; we can’t justify one.

We are toying with the idea of using the planets to vote for changes, but we are not sure if it is needed.

For now, assume we will be taking guidance from the community in our discord and telegram.

Why Terra?

We chose Terra for a couple reasons...

  • Low transactions fees which keeps minting and planet editing costs low.

  • Powerful tools, tutorials, and contract examples are available in the Terra and CosmWasm ecosystem.

  • The Terra community is one of the best. We hope that this project can bring in new members to the Terra Ecosystem.

Is this project open source?

Before we move to whitelisting and minting, we are planning to open source our smart contracts so that the community fully knows what they are getting into. The frontend will be open sourced later in the year hopefully.

I want to invest in this project, how can I?

We are self-funding this project. Please consider supporting us during the mint!

What if someone draws a big d*** on their planet?

Yes
